You are locked in a room for 30 days with $0, a computer, and access to internet. You must earn $5000 or you die. What do you do?

Ok this is a very good question and there are some solid answers too!

I am not going to suggest finding something you are good at and then turning that into a business for two simple reasons.

1. It can take a looooooooooong time to automate such a business based off your own skill (usually requires you to be actively working)
2. Many reading this probably have little business experience so validating your skill can become an absolute mess

Instead, if automated monthly income is your goal then this is the business model I suggest

E-commerce Drop Shipping.

E-commerce is the selling of good solely online and if you do not know what drop shipping is then here is a quick explanation:

Selling products online that you do not hold physical stock for. Instead you have a supplier of the products and when a customer places an order with you (usually through your own website store) you then order that product yourself from the supplier and have it sent directly to the customer. Therefore you do not buy any stock prior to selling and never have to handle any product your self either. The money you make is the difference between your product price and the supplier’s (i.e. the Profit Mark Up).

The reason I suggest this strategy is because it really requires no experience to become successful and their is an abundance of knowledge/help/guidelines free on the internet to get you your first sale.

Many drop shippers like myself use Aliexpress as our supplier of products and sell on the Shopify store platform. Shopify is a website store builder like wordpress but specific for e-commerce (selling stuff online). It requires no coding and is incredibly easy to use.

Oberlo is an amazing software which allows you to import products from Aliexpress and sync them to your own shopify store. It also allows you to automate much of the fulfillment side of things when a customer orders via your store (it can be incredibly time consuming manually ordering the aliexpress orders yourself!). You literally only need to click a few buttons and the order is made!

The best way to drive targeted traffic to your website and convert to customers is with Facebook paid advertising. If you have never ran an ad on FB before then this will be a bit of a learning curb but once you’re comfortable with the operations it comes down to testing new audiences with new offers of your products. It is a good idea to have atleast $200–300 for ad testing although you will most likely be generating sales back to cover your ad spend.

I chose this method of earning online income because ecommerce is the future of shopping and there is no limits to how much you can earn. I am thankful to be able to quit my day job and work on this full time (with actually more free time on my hands).

Another reason is that once you have your systems in place and are pulling in consistent daily sales- you can automate/outsource the entire day-to-day operations of your store. There are virtual assistants in the Philipines that will work for $5/hour and take care of all your customer service, order fulfillment and design needs. This allows you to step out of the business and earn money without actually exchanging your own time to do so. This is called passive/residual income and is the answer to true wealth (beyond just the money).

No longer are you working for your business but your business is working for you :) Rinse and repeat amigos!

Now starting out is the hardest part of all because it may seem all so foreign and a lot to get your head around. But start small and learn the basics. From there aim to grow more and more every day.
